On Christmas day thier family came over for our traditional prime rib dinner, putting a puzzle together, playing games and watching t.v. I am so THANKFUL for thier family and that we spend the holiday's together. Even when we lived in Idaho for two Christmas' we came back and had it with them.

Last Big Hunting Trip of the Year

Erik and Austen were able to find a nice six point bull on the second day of their hunt. With help from friends Brad and Baxter Rosewood they loaded him up and packed him out the next day. It was a little chilly but the boys said it was well worth it.

Jessica Playing Volleyball

I went to a few Kamiakin JV volleyball games this year because my niece plays on the team. They did really great this year - - they were undefeated. I enjoyed going to her games and watch her play.

I love this girl!!

The Hunting Party

October 2008

Erik and Austen had a successful hunting trip this year with friends Jason Madsen, Brad Rosewood and sons Bronson and Baxter. Early in the hunt Bronson dropped the hammer on this very nice and near record book Antelope buck. A few days later, and after some hard hunting Jason and Baxter put the sneak on these two nice Bull Elk. However the hunt nearly became a disaster when the party was attacked by this ravenous badger. Austen saved the group with some slick hand to hand moves and dispatched the badger to the promised land. Erik and Brad will be going back out before the hunt ends to continue looking for the wall hangers thier in search of. To be continued....

Overcoming Addictions

One month ago today I quit drinking diet coke. I KNOW - - crazy huh!!! Those of you who know me and know me well, know that I had the stuff running through my veins. I had about 90 ounces a day. My sweet friend Leslie H. told me about two years ago that she had read some articles about vertigo and aspartame being linked. She patiently and lovingly kept reminding me of this about every other month or so. Anyway, it started getting really bad again about six months ago. So, I decided to stop drinking it and see what happens. Guess what, my vertigo is gone - - I can lay down and not get dizzy! I won't say it was easy but it was worth it and I am drinking a ton more water (80-100 ounces a day). Leslie, thank you for caring enough and loving me enough to nag me into submission.

The Love of a Family

So last night I am sitting on the couch watching a movie and snuggling with my daughters. Riley whispers in my ear "I wonder what it will feel like when I am a mom and I'm holding my little girl in my arms?" I told her that it is the best feeling in the world and she then tells me that " it is the best feeling in the world to have a family who love each other and take care of each other." I love how Riley takes little moments like that and makes me realize how very blessed I am.

I Have Been Tagged by Leslie H.

I am - a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, compassionate, loyal, sincere, thankful, kind-hearted, tennis player, shy and happy.

I have - a husband who loves me, children that brighten my world, friends who love me for me and a desire to be healthier.

I get frustrated when - people are inconsiderate.

I think - ONE person can always make a difference.

I value - the time that I spend with my family, the sisterhood that I have with my dearest friends, the laughter of children (especially mine), the opportunity that I get to help others and the love of life that I have.

I wish - people would look at the positive in others instead of the negative and that it wouldn't be so hard for me to let my wall down.

I fear - losing a family member and the world that my children live in.

I dislike - gossip, child abuse, when innocent people are hurt by evil people and when someone blows their nose in a restaurant.

I love - my husband, my children, family, being a member of the church, my home, playing tennis, reading, scrapbooking, having girl time with my friends, laughing, white daisies, massages, apple crisp and ice cream, the smell of lavendar, music, the changes of the seasons and the list could go on and on.

Every year in September a group of us girls get together in Meacham, Oregon and scrapbook for two full days. We stay in this 100 year old house that use to be a hotel and train depot. I look forward to this weekend every year and have a great time bonding with these girls. I think I got about 6 hours of sleep but I got 55 pages done this year.
